Quantitative extraction of Evans blue leaked from the vessels in the skin.

چکیده
鈴木 守 ・新井 弘祐 Several investigators have used the extravasal leakage of the circulating dye as an indicator of the change in capillary permeability by measuring, for example, the mean diameter of the blueing (1-3), the visual grading of the blueing (4, 5) or size and inten sity of the staining (6-12). Studying the effects of organic solvents on the capillary permeability, one of the present authors has indicated the need for the more exact and quantitative evaluation of the leaked dye (7) and attemped further the extraction of the tissue dye by butanol (13). The quantitative extraction of the dye has been developed by Beach and Steinetz (14), Judah and Willoughby (15) and Nitta et al. (16). However, the procedures except that introduced by Beach and Steinetz, were relatively complicated for use as a routine bioassay in the laboratory. The present report is a device to obtain the more simple method available in the laboratory by modifying the previous method.

Quantitative evaluation of Blood Brain Barrier permeability in transient focal cerebral ischemia in the rat
Introduction: Development of brain edema following focal cerebral ischemia exacerbates primary ischemic injury. Blood brain barrier (BBB) opening is an important part of edema named as vasogenic brain edema. In this study, quantitative alterations of BBB permeability is experimentally evaluated using transient focal cerebral ischemia in the rat. Methods: Two groups of male rats (ischemic and sh...
متن کاملEffect of ibuprofen and methimazole on post burn edema
We determined the effects of ibuprofen and methimazole on the formation of second- degree burn edema. Two small burns were produced on the back of rats. Ten minutes prior to burn, Evans blue ( EB) dye was injected through a femoral vein catheter. All animals were extravasation of evans blue. Ten groups of rats were studied. Immediately after induction of burns, test drugs were administered intr...

Background: Curcumin is yellow pigment of tumeric, and, that is extracted from it lawsonia (2-hydroxy 1,4 naphtoquinon) is a natural product and it is extracted from henna. Ginger is a dried rhizomes gained from a plant called zingiber officinalea, which is extracted from the family of ginger. Material and Methods: This experimental study performed on adult male rats. Acute inflammatory edema ...
متن کاملAccurate detection of land surface features using Evans and Shary quantitative coefficients (Case study: Gerbaigan Fasa watershed)
Geomorphological zoning of the earth's surface is the basis of land use planning. The first step of land use planning is to determine homogeneous zones of the earth's surface in terms of geomorphological characteristics. Geomorphologically homogeneous areas can be managed in one approach. Ground zoning is the detection of land features by basic surface features such as height, slope, and slope ...
متن کاملAn in vivo assay to test blood vessel permeability.
This method is based on the intravenous injection of Evans Blue in mice as the test animal model. Evans blue is a dye that binds albumin. Under physiologic conditions the endothelium is impermeable to albumin, so Evans blue bound albumin remains restricted within blood vessels. In pathologic conditions that promote increased vascular permeability endothelial cells partially lose their close con...
